Editorial policy & ranking methodology

How we compare and rank Turkish dental clinics, how we keep the process independent, who reviews our clinical content, and how you can reproduce or challenge our conclusions.

Last reviewed: June 2026 · Reviewed for clinical accuracy by GDC-registered UK dentists on our independent panel (verifiable at olr.gdc-uk.org).

1. How clinics are scored

Each clinic is scored 0–10 on six weighted criteria; the overall score is the weighted sum. Because the weights and rubric are published, anyone applying the same method to the same evidence reaches the same result.

CriterionWeight
Verifiable accreditation20%
Who treats you (named specialist)20%
Real 1–2★ review record20%
Guarantee & aftercare15%
Implant transparency15%
UK-patient communication10%

Rubric (fixed rules): accreditation — 10 if a published, checkable Ministry-of-Health certificate number, else 3. Who treats you — 10 if one named register-verifiable specialist, else 5. Review record — start at 10, minus 0.35 per verified 1–2★ review, with a heavy penalty for removed fake reviews (no published record = neutral 6). Guarantee — 10 if written terms published in advance, else 4. Implant transparency — 10 if named brands + serialised passports, else 5. Communication — 10 if documented English consent + UK follow-up, else 6.

Overall = accreditation×0.20 + who-treats-you×0.20 + review-record×0.20 + guarantee×0.15 + implants×0.15 + communication×0.10, rounded to one decimal.

2. Our principles

3. How confident you can be in each fact

4. Conflict of interest

Our reviewers and editors are not employed by, and hold no financial stake in, any clinic they assess, including Taki Dent. No clinic pays for placement or ranking. Where any relevant relationship exists, it is disclosed on the page in question.

5. How content is produced & reviewed

Author (editorial team drafts from primary sources) → medical review (a GDC-registered UK dentist checks clinical accuracy) → editorial review (scoring checked against the rubric; every competitor claim sourced) → publish with a "last reviewed" date and periodic re-checks.

6. Corrections, appeals & independent scrutiny

We correct mistakes: email us with evidence and we fix it. Clinics may appeal a score or fact with documentary evidence (a certificate number, published guarantee terms, or a platform ruling on flagged reviews); we re-score against the same rubric.

Because the criteria, weights and rubric are public, any independent academic, clinician or journalist can reproduce and challenge our ranking without our involvement, and we welcome that scrutiny.

7. Who reviews this & data sources

Clinical content is reviewed by GDC-registered UK dentists on our independent panel — see our editorial team (every registration verifiable at olr.gdc-uk.org). Sources: the Turkish Ministry of Health health-tourism register, the GDC, NICE, PubMed, the EAO and EFP, and each clinic's verified public reviews.
